Coronavirus Guidance

Benefice COVID guidelines

Mindful of our corporate responsibility to protect the most vulnerable, and given the increase in COVID numbers particularly in our community, we believe a slow and cautious approach is wisest at this stage.

Therefore:

  • Track and trace no longer required;

  • No physical sharing of the peace;

  • No sharing of communion wine;

  • Sanitising as common practice.

Face masks:

  • Are encouraged but will not be enforced;

  • Queuing for Holy Communion can resume.

Social distancing:

  • Is encouraged but not enforced;

  • Those who wish to sit with their friends, where all parties are happy with that, are free to do so.

Singing:

  • Short hymns can resume quietly behind masks.

Weddings, funerals and baptisms:

  • There will be no insistence on social distancing or the wearing of masks.

These guidelines will be revised in the event of further advice from the Church of England.
